BIO
Monika Eva Hauck (aka monautomaton) is a Canadian-Polish audiovisual artist, interdisciplinary artist, and creative producer based in Helsinki, Finland. Working across live visuals, installation, photography, video, printmaking, sculpture, and interactive media, her practice investigates media ecologies, environmental change, memory, and the shifting relationship between physical and digital experience. Through process-driven experimentation, layering, and improvisation, she creates immersive audiovisual environments that blur the boundaries between performance, installation, and digital art.

As a VJ and live visual artist, Hauck has collaborated with internationally recognized musicians including Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Deerhoof, US Girls, Julie Doiron, Partner, Witch Prophet and The Sorority. Her visuals have accompanied performances at venues and festivals including the Art Gallery of Ontario, Kazoo! Festival, Wavelength Music Festival, Hillside Festival, Flourish Festival, Electric Eclectics, Up Here, Aavistus A/V Festival, Tampere Film Festival and numerous independent music and arts events across Canada and Finland.

Alongside her artistic practice, Hauck develops platforms that foster interdisciplinary exchange and creative community. She is the founder of Pulse Index, an artist-led platform for audiovisual culture in Helsinki bringing together live events, workshops, and experimental programming, and co-founder of Static Channel, an audiovisual project combining live visuals with synthesizer-based performance.

Hauck holds a BA in Studio Art from the University of Guelph and an MA in New Media Design and Production from Aalto University. Her work has been exhibited and performed internationally across galleries, festivals, clubs, and public spaces.
