STATIC CHANNEL

Static Channel (FKA VERSA) is a Canadian audiovisual collective dedicated to exploring the intersection of music, art and technology. Led by new media artist Monika Hauck and musician Alex Ricci, the project marries instrumental electronic music with sound-responsive abstract visuals. Improvisation also plays a role in the duo’s artistic communication as they spontaneously compose and visualize unique elements of each performance.

In past iterations ranging from 7-piece post-rock band to duo laptop, the group has performed notable Canadian music and arts events including Hillside Festival, Flourish Festival (Fredericton NB), Electric Eclectics (Meaford ON), Nuit Blanche (Toronto and Ottawa ON) and Y2K Live Looping Festival (Mexico City MX). They have created live visuals for musical artists such as The Sorority, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Deerhoof, Absolutely Free and US Girls.
